…………Poem To Go With Capture……….
“The Banjo That Grew”
It was the kind of morning you can tie a rope to
Add a board of cedar and make a swing
The Bradofrd Pears were in full bloom
Tucked away in her curls was spring

A farmer with nothing but earth
And growth residing in his will
Looks on at this flowering tree
Glowing with notes the land did instill

Growing inside the flesh of these branches
Were notes that until then had been unsung
There grew a banjo with cadence running its length
And strings that were made from dawn were strung

The milkmaid that had spread her quilt under this banjo
Was lulled to this spot by its sound
Finishing the butter she churned
She sought out this harmony plot of ground

A song about the birds and their blue
Did rise from the peach of her smile
The banjo catching emotions from a farmers breathing
That had been her harmony all the while

He gathered some Shepards weed
Then tied it together with twine
All he knows is the truth before him
And how a mans story can shine
