"Amelia Mae"

“Amelia Mae”

In the space between her quilt
& The heavy sand beneath
Words bleed through the colors
Her mind letting go of its sheath

“Its you my dear sea and surge
That is said to carry wakeful light
The ones that put a spin to a record
Leaving my story at a constant recite”

She said these syllables with hope abound
Concerto Amelia held for a resound

“Oh Amelia Mae, those lights choose you
Over and over they will glow your song
They felt the felicity that was grown there
It weaved a cream colored ribbon through your hair
The joy of the sky wants to play along”

“Blue… they leave me here
All they left me was twine
It pierced me through my chest
Forgetting all the rest
They pull so my breathing will rise
And fall
I have no more life than knotty pine”

The waves blessed around her feet
Buried her words of despair with sand
Amelia went to sleep breathing
Only living by lights single strand
